New juicy hits, from Grizzly Bear to Dan Auerbach
Autumn has finally come and some of you may find it hard to process the end of the summer. The best way to start October is to get rid of the old season hits and add some new stuff to your iPod. But let’s be clear: even if the leaves are falling, no one said you have to stop dancing. Grizzly Bear, Portugal. The Man, St. Vincent, Beck and Dan Auerbach have just released some tracks that are worth your attention.
So forget sad ballads because, in the following five songs, there’s enough rhythm for everyone.
Grizzly Bear – Mourning Sound
The “mourning” word in the title doesn’t help, but I suggest you to click on play: Mourning Sound is maybe one of the most captivating tracks from Grizzly Bear. The song is literally an urban dream featuring a crispy bass line and synth flashes.
Portugal. The Man – Feel it Still
If you are looking for the most irresistible chorus of the season, you’ve just found it: “Ooh woo, I’m a rebel just for kicks, now / I been feeling it since 1966, now / Might be over now, but I feel it still”. The Alaskan band, Portugal. The Man, has reached the top of the Alternative Songs Chart on Billboard with the single Feel It Still: the light-hearted saxophone and the falsetto chorus make it the perfect retro-groovy hit. This is the toe-tapping song you’ll be singing everywhere.
St. Vincent – Los Ageless
Taken from St. Vincent’s forthcoming album Masseduction (out on October 13), Los Ageless is an catchy dance-rock tune, with addictive guitar lines and a fantastic beat. Only Annie Clark could write a bitter lament and make it an electro gem.
Beck – Up All Night
The first version of Up All Night was available exclusively on the soundtrack to FIFA’17, but Beck decided to include the track in his upcoming album Colors: the song is a perfect blend of disco, folk and art pop that you’re going to love.
Dan Auerbach – Stand By My Girl
Missing the 60s? Listen to Dan Auerbach’s latest single, Stand By My Girl: the Black Keys frontman delivers a funny, Beatles-inspired track with a modern touch which recalls Fatboy Slim’s Praise You. If you need some vintage vibes, this is the song you have to look for.
