Dave Franco, Olivia Munn, Justin Theroux and producer Dan Lin introduce new trailer for the danish-american animated movie
Irresistible jokes, an all star cast and our all time favorite toys: the ingredients are enough to make us crave The New LEGO NINJAGO Movie, directed by Charlie Bean, Paul Fisher and Bob Logan. The third chapter of the Warner Bros. franchise hit the San Diego Comic-Con with a colorful panel which enlisted actors Dave Franco, Olivia Munn, Justin Theroux, Abbi Jacobson, Michael Peña, Kumail Nanjiani, Zach Woods and the producer Dan Lin.
The story follows the adventures of six teenagers trained by an old master, Master Wu, to become ninjas and protect the land of Ninjago: Franco stars as the leader of the group, Lloyd, who fights to confront his evil father Lord Garmadon, voiced by Theroux. Jackie Chan, who couldn’t be at the panel, lends his voice to the old master.
Franco introduced the Comic-Con trailer for the film which features another terryfing and unexpected villain: a hilarious real cat that, like a japanese kaiju, threatens to knock down Ninjago City. This is only one of the real nature elements used in the new LEGO film: «We are incorporating natural elements really for the first time.» said Lin. «It’s almost like LEGO put in your backyard, with real water, real trees, real grass.»
NINJAGO is one of the most recent LEGO line of sets, inspired by the the previous Lego Ninja collection (produced between 1998 and 2000), and one of their best selling products: «My kids reacted like I just got cast as Luke Skywalker.» Justin Theroux explained during the panel. «NINJAGO is like fight club for 10-year-olds. If you’re over that age, you don’t know it exists.»
The film will be released in the US on September 22 and in Italy on October 12: get ready for this tale of good… and dad.
