The american popstar introduced her new single via a video message
Taylor Swift dropped the music video for her new song, Delicate, during the 2018 iHeart Radio Music Awards. The american popstar won the award for Female Artist of the Year, but she couldn’t attend the ceremony on Sunday, March 11.
In a video message, she accepted the award and she explained that she couldn’t attend the show due to rehearsals for her forthcoming stadium tour (which kicks off on May 8 in Arizona). As a way to show her gratitude, she introduced the new song to her fans.
Delicate is the fourth single from Swift’s latest album, Reputation, and the video is directed by her long time collaborator Joseph Kahn: the song seems to describe the early stages of a relationship, but there are also some references to fame, the leading theme of Swift’s new album.
In the past few years, the singer has been depicted as a heartbreaker by the media and Delicate sounds like the tale of a contradiction: the american popstar has been dating british actor Joe Alwyn since October 2016 and she seems to be happy, but in the song Swift wonders what her new boyfriend might think about her public image.
