Sparkling wine and street food turn into the perfect match
Classy champagne meets pop hot dogs. Yes, it’s real. It happens in Charlotte Street, London, where my new favorite place is located: it’s called Bubbledogs and, as you can get from the name, “bubble” stands for the famous french sparkling wine and “dogs” for the most popular street food on the planet. Catchy name, amazing match. I wish I had this idea.
If you’re looking for a new cool place to hang out with your friends or dating a nice, easy-going girl/guy, Bubbledogs is the right choice. I wouldn’t define it a restaurant: think about it as a champagne bar, with industrial furniture and a warm, informal atmosphere which makes you feel instantly home.
For those who don’t like champagne (do these people exist?), Bubbledogs offers also a selection of cocktails and soft drinks, but keep in mind what their specialty is. So you can have a glass of Gaston Chiquet, Sélection Cuvée, Brut (sounds good, right?) and pair it with a Fourth of July (a tasty, juicy hot dog with spicy BBQ sauce, coleslaw and crispy bacon #wow) or a Raventós i Blanc, De Nit, Rosé, a Buffalo Dog (spicy buffalo sauce, blue cheese and celery) and add one of Bubbledogs fantastic sides (like Tots: deep-fried and grated, crispy potatoes).
The best part of their menu is that each champagne matches perfectly every hot dog on the list. So if you prefer a fruity, citrusy or dry taste, the choice is up to you. And if you’re not a champagne expert, ask for advice to the amazing Bubbledogs staff.
