10 of the best live streams and concerts you can watch online

The music shows you can’t miss from Metallica to Take That

It’s almost summer and it gets harder to accept we won’t be able to attend big live music events until next year: nothing compares to a live performance of our favorite band and to the feeling of being part of a crowd singing along together.

That said, we’re all trying to adjust to the new situation and so are the artists: with gigs cancelled all over the world, due to the pandemic, musicians started streaming old performances and live sessions on social media and other platforms.

Some of these events will also raise money for charities that are helping people through this difficult times, one reason more to join your favorite artists online.

The list of live streams and shows you can watch is long, but I put together a selection of 10 great events for all tastes.

Met Opera – Nightly Opera Stream

Classical music lovers will be happy to know that, every day, Met is streaming a different encore presentation from the company’s Live in HD series: each performance is available on their official website for 23 hours, from 7:30PM to 6:30 of the following day.

The Royal Albert Hall played with its name to host a concert series featuring some of your favorite artists “sharing their work from their home to yours”.  Imogen Heap and Kaiser Chiefs, just to name a few, are performing this week on May 29-30, 2020. You can watch the live sessions on YouTube.

Robbie Williams will rejoin his old band mates Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald for a one-off virtual live show on the CompareTheMeerkat YouTube Channel on May 29, 2020. There’s no news about the fifth band member, Jason Orange, who probably won’t participate in the event.
